Sujet : Polymer Pinning Model - Order of the phase transition in the inhomogeneous model
The pinning model, first introduced by biophysicists, depicts the situation when a polymer stands near an object it can interact with (like a defect line in the environment, or a cell wall in the human body). Mathematicians have taken hold of that model, and have proven that it undergoes a "phase transition" between two regimes : depending on parameters like the temperature, the polymer can either pin itself to the object, or wander away from it. Sharp analyses of that phase transition have been carried out in the last 15 years, in particular when the polymer is not homogeneous. The aim of this presentation is to introduce the inhomogeneous -or disordered- model, and tools used to study the order of its phase transition.
